JAKARTA — The Accounting Research Institute of Universiti Teknologi MARA (ARI) has been named winner of the 3G Research Excellence award by UK-based financial services organization, Cambridge IFA.
Director of ARI Professor Normah Omar, received the award on behalf of the university at the 4th Global Good Governance Awards ceremony at the Pullman Jakarta here on Thursday.
Also present at the ceremony was the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Azraai Kassim and several research fellows from the institute.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Mohd Azraai congratulated the institute and expressed his hope that ARI would continue to strive for excellence in all its endeavours.
ARI is among six pioneer research institutions that were accorded the Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE) status in 2010 by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
The Accounting Research Institute (ARI) was first formed in 2002 as a special interest group to coordinate and manage the activities of its eight multi-discipline research centers.
Over the years, ARI has received numerous international accolades, including the Eminence in Islamic Financial Criminology Research Award 2018 in Bosnia Herzegovina, the Global Research Excellence in Islamic Financial Criminology Award 2017 in Kazakhstan, the Best Research & Development in Islamic Finance Award 2016 in Indonesia, and the Pioneer in Islamic Financial Criminology Research Award 2015, in Bahrain.
